This is a bust of a youth binding his hair found on Delos, ca. 100 BCE, National Archeological Museum, Athens. The full size statue has been found at Delos island and is a representation of a young athlete binding his hair. Found in the building known conventionally as the House of the Diadoumenos, on Delos. The youth is depicted binding a ribbon in his hair, a feature that enables him to be identified as an athlete. The piece is a copy of the famous statue of the “Diadoumenos” made by Polykleitos, about 450-425 BC.
